Nordic Walking

Opened in spring 2012, the Nordic Walking Park at Pietrabuona features seven trials inside the Fattoria di Pietrabuona, all on the hill of Zano. The total length is about 6 km.

The existing mountain trails have been reorganised into different routes consisting of different levels of difficulty. The corresponding sign posting and direction were all implemented under the auspices of the Nordic Fitness Association of Italy (ANI-Associazione Nordic Fitness Italiana) and allow you to take in the breathtaking mountain vistas at Fattoria di Pietrabuona at your own pace.

 

Born in Finland as a summer training for cross-country skiers, the Nordic Walking is a gentle training which develops endurance, strenght and fitness, the perfect exercise for people looking for a “wellness” activity which doesn’t strain the joints.

 

The basic technique is inspired by the movements of the cross-country skiing, using the so-called diagonal movement with the addition of the poles. ANI association has developed a teaching method called 2pb or “four elements”, that is, the four points the technique works on:

 

- Posture: some easy tips may correct it

 

- Step: you may realign and improve it totally

 

- Arm: its movement is essential for a correct walking

 

- Pole: reduces the impact on the joints of legs and improves the diagonal movement, allowing you to

train all your body muscles while you walk.

 

Upon request, ANI association ensures guests of the Fattoria di Pietrabuona the assistance of a qualified instructor.
